Modification to meet requirements (Fixed Access Ladders: Engineering Data Sheet 2–04):

The top of the uppermost rung to be level with the top of the access/egress level
Rungs to have a non-slip surface
If the distance from the top of a parapet to the roof-top exceeds one rung-space (i.e, max. 300 mm) a means of climbing to and from the top of the parapet to be provided.
Safety Cage to be provided where the top of the ladder is greater than 5 metres above ground level or roof and where there is a danger of a worker falling from the ladder to the ground level or floor, even if the length of the climb is less than 5 metres.
Maximum spacing of attachment points to be 3 m.
Attachment and anchor bolts to have a minimum diameter of 12 mm.
Platform to be provided along a ladder where worker activity is anticipated and where lack of such a platform will incur significant additional hazard to workers
Prevention of unauthorized access

Installation Procedure:

Modification Of Existing Wall Ladders, for built-up, single-ply and sloped, standing seam metal roofs to be in compliance with Fixed Access Ladders: Engineering Data Sheet 2–04)

No roof penetration, flashing or damage to the roofing material.

The system shall be designed to support all weight and equipment as required.

The system shall consist of the following:

Bases	Frame	Platform	Handrails	Clamping Hardware
High Density Polyethylene Plastics and other additives for UV Protection.	12 gauge, 1 5/8" strut G-5812, or approved equal, 12 gauge back-to-back strut G-1012A, or approved equal.	13 gauge Shur Grip safety grating planks, or approved equal.	12 gauge, 1 5/8" strut G-5812, or approved equal.	Electro-Plated Bolts, Nuts and Washers
